The reefs lying to the east of Borneo, which actually belong to Indonesia, are some of the least dived in the country. They are as beautiful as everywhere else but a restricted infrastructure makes it hard to get there.
Gorgonzola dive site is at the end of Maratua island where the landside geography reveals small rocky cliffs leading down to the waterline. Hard coral slopes extend directly from beneath them and are punctuated by gorgonians of all sizes and shapes. Interspersing these were many pretty anemones, each one housing a cluster of playful false clownfish.
