Oman | an introduction to diving

Located on the southeast of the Arabian Peninsula, this small country is still finding its feet when it comes to attracting scuba divers. This is partly historical as until recently, the country wasn't on the obvious tourist trails and partly because the area is somewhat overshadowed by the diving areas in neighbouring countries in the Red Sea.

Just seven hours from Europe and with 1700 kilometres of coastline, there are several regions where diving is promoted, but as yet the best known and most established is the Daymaniat Islands just outside the capital Muscat.
