One side of Nelivaru Thila is a very steep wall, the other a more gentle slope. At one end of the wall a cluster of coral bommies houses an incredible variety of life. There were vast schools baitfish swimming above and masses of glassfish competing with morays for space in the crevices. We spotted the spearchucker mantis shrimp and a blotched ray on the sand.
Just as we started to ascend, the schools of baitfish exploded into action, scattering in all directions as a pair of Bluefin trevally powered into their midst.
